COMMON LIT TOOLS: BRIDGING THE GAP

SUMMARY

As students transitioned to 100% eLearning, educators noticed a significant decrease in reading comprehension scores and overall student engagement. The goal was to increase student engagement with texts resulting in higher summative scores. I developed professional training for colleagues to guide them through implementing engaging software with their students effectively.

RESULTS

Colleagues and PLC members acquired and applied knowledge gained from training. Because teachers were able to model using the software features effectively, student engagement increased. Formative assessments were used and the training resulted in higher average scores on text assessments.
